25th January 2017. Circuito de Jerez vice-president Santiago Galván has announced today that the company has reached an agreement with Dorna to celebrate an event of the 2017 Superbike World Championship. CIRJESA has now the support of other administrations to assume the cost of the canon, reduced to half the price with the cooperation of Dorna. Within the climate of understanding and dialogue between CIRJESA and Dorna, an agreement has been reached after an intense negotiating work which will mean the reduction on the event cost and the economical backing of other institutions. In the words of Santiago Galván "We are now in the position of announcing a good news for the motorbike followers and the economic activity of Jerez: we will have an event of the Superbike World Championship in 2017".

Santiago Galván recalled: "we have always maintained that we never discarded the celebration of the event and we have kept in touch with Dorna in order to try to avoid the losses of previous years. We have always been there, negotiating the value and cut-down of costs of the event. Having now reached the agreement with the Promoter (Dorna), we only need the confirmation from the FIM for the final Calendar".

The vice-president has remind his statements of last November when CIRJESA was dealing two important matters in order to go on with the event: the price reduction on the fee and the economical support of other institutions. "We always maintained that the event was not to be lost; the agreement with Dorna has been reached thanks to Dorna's understanding of the council point of view. We are ever so grateful to Dorna for its involvement and patience, for having listened and accepting to maintain the negotiations carried out in the last few months. We have achieved a considerable reduction on the fee and the contribution of other institutions, which will allow us to carry out the event¨.

¨The signing of the agreement will take place in the next few days. The date is being decided with the Promoter (Dorna) and the FIM and will most probably be around the second half of October. We shall experience the emotion of the Superbike again". Santiago Galván has positively valued the sporting and economical impact related to the celebration of the event. "It is an event that will again bring full occupancy in hotels, restaurants and more activity at Circuito de Jerez".

The vice-president of CIRJESA is working on further events for the track calendar. "We will keep working on more events for Circuito de Jerez which will bring economical impact to Jerez and the province. In the next few days we shall announce a new deal just about to be concluded".
